Te Tiriti Commitment
We honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi through partnership, protection, and participation in the life of our centre.
Vision & Mission
At Te Puna Kelston, we envision a calm and nurturing place where learning begins, wellbeing is protected, and tamariki are supported to grow with confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging.
Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and caring early learning environment that honours each child's unique journey. Like a natural spring, Te Puna Kelston is a source of nourishment and growth where strong relationships, play-based learning, and partnership with whānau support tamariki to develop wellbeing, identity, and a lifelong love of learning.
What Guides Us
We honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi through partnership, protection, and participation in the life of our centre.
We celebrate the identities, languages, and cultures of tamariki and whānau and create a place where children feel safe, valued, and known.
Strong relationships with whānau, kaiako, and the wider community help shape the learning journey and deepen belonging.
Philosophy
We believe all tamariki learn best through play. We provide rich, meaningful experiences that support their curiosity, independence, and wellbeing, with kaiako working alongside tamariki as co-learners.
Whanaungatanga sits at the heart of our practice. Together with whānau and the wider community, we nurture capable, connected learners who feel a strong sense of belonging and pride in who they are.
Whakapapa, Place, and Belonging
Our pepeha helps express the relationships between whenua, water, iwi, and place that shape the identity of our learning community. At Te Puna Kelston, it supports a sense of belonging for tamariki and whānau by grounding our centre in the stories and connections of this place.
